Recently, Ducheng Industrial has achieved remarkable results in the energy-saving and consumption-reduction renovation project for desulfurization and denitrification of the 360㎡ sintering line at Nangang Group’s Sintering Plant. The GGH heat exchange element retrofitting project undertaken by our company has been successfully completed and put into operation. The project was finished on March 28, 2025, and officially launched production on March 30. With stable operating efficiency and outstanding performance, it has won high recognition from the owner. This energy-saving and consumption-reducing renovation project for desulfurization and denitrification of the 360㎡ sintering line covers multiple sub-projects, among which the replacement of GGH heat exchange elements stands as the top priority. Drawing on extensive project experience, Ducheng Industrial adopted heat exchange elements and top radial sealing assemblies supplied by Howden Hua Engineering. The new elements feature the patented high-efficiency corrugated profile of Howden’s HCTM series. This innovative design greatly improves heat transfer efficiency and cleaning performance. Calculations show it can cut energy consumption by more than 10%, saving the enterprise over 3.75 million yuan in costs every year, and strongly advancing green development, cost reduction and efficiency improvement at Nangang Group.

However, the construction of this project posed great technical difficulties. The works required the removal of 1,872 old heat exchange elements, installation of 1,248 new ones, as well as replacement of the top radial sealing assemblies. Faced with multiple tough challenges including a tight manufacturing lead time, heavy workload, compressed construction schedule and limited on-site space, Ducheng Industrial demonstrated robust comprehensive capabilities to tackle all obstacles.Prior to the signing of the official contract, the company had already finished design work, material preparation and initiated manufacturing, cutting the delivery cycle by 50%. Before construction kicked off, our team conducted thorough site surveys, held full communication with Nangang Group and Nanjing Jinhan Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., and repeatedly refined the construction plan. During the construction phase, resources were meticulously organized and allocated; construction personnel and machinery mobilized to the site in advance for preparation. Round-the-clock operations were implemented, with management staff coordinating on-site throughout the whole process to guarantee smooth construction progress. Meanwhile, rigorous safety and quality control were enforced. Safety protocols and labor protection measures were fully implemented in compliance with relevant standards to ensure safe and orderly construction.

With full support and close cooperation from the owner, Ducheng Industrial demonstrated outstanding professional competence and efficient execution capabilities in construction work. The removal and installation of all heat exchange elements were completed on the 6th day of equipment shutdown; installation and inspection of sealing assemblies finished on the 7th day; flue restoration and finishing works wrapped up on the 8th day. The entire construction process proceeded efficiently and orderly, achieving high-quality delivery within an seemingly "impossible" 8-day schedule.
The full success of this project not only highlights Ducheng Industrial’s profound professional expertise and exceptional execution strength in industrial automation, energy conservation and environmental protection sectors. Looking ahead, Ducheng Industrial will continue to uphold the philosophy of coexistence, co-creation and win-win results with partners and all customers, deliver premium services to more enterprises, and fuel the green development of the industry.
